Business Process Management (BPM) means modelling of business processes and their transformation to a conceptual design of the corresponding IT processes. BPM systems provide the basis to bring together rather different views: the process view and the IT view. They offer

1. the possibility to link these views and to reduce the development and integration costs.
2. A graphical user interface to design, to modify and to implement the processes.
